7 Tips To Choose the Right Unlocked Mobile Phone

When you decide to buy an unlocked mobile phone, you are faced with a multitude of choices. There are numerous brands and models within each brand, and versions within each model. Therefore, you must concentrate on what is the most important for you and choose your phone accordingly. On the other hand, however, there are some core features yuo should always be paying attention, too. We will discuss them one by one later.

Step 1. Intended use. Decide what you will use your phone for.
Nowadays, the mobile phone is no longer just a phone, but it can be your whole mobile office, enterntainment, and social communications center. You should choose a phone that guarantees you full functionality and usability for the intended purpose.

If you want a mobile phone to help you run your business, you'll need (besides regular voice communications) the possibility to make conference calls (maybe even using video), data sychronization (so you can have the most up to date information with you), perhaps an office application to read documents, spreadsheets, and charts, and also smooth internet connection, maybe even with VPN functionality.

If your main goal is entertainment, you'll want a smartphone with a built in music player with good quality sound, a video player, a photo camera, and a movie camera. A smooth internet connection is also a must for downloading new songs and movies.

If you aim at social communications from wherever you are, then your smarthphone must be equipped with good internet connection functionality, easy access to social services, video chat functions, easy download and upload of photos and movie clips.

Step 2. Operating bands. You want to use your phone in as many places as possible, right? That's why you should ask the dealer in how many band ranges the phone operates. You want as many of them as possible, i.e. four at the moment. Not every band is provided everywhere, so the more you have at your hands, the more functional your unlocked mobile phone is.

Step 3. Display. A bigger display is not always better than a smaller one but is always more welcome. What you need to know about the display of your dream unlocked phone is its resolution (now, the bigger, the better, with 600 x 480 pixels being the absolute minimum. Next, look at the brightness. If the display is not bright enough, you won't see anything on a sunny day! Last, but not least is the contrast, again, the higher, the better, because this is also what determines the visibility of details on screen.

Step 4. Sound quality. No matter whether you are going to play music on your phone or just use it for conversations, sound quality adds a lot to an overal user experience. Always ask the dealer to demonstrate how the phone sounds when in loudspeaker mode. If you're geared towards listenening music, then a decent stereo with good channel separation is an absolute minimum.

Step 5.Operating system. If you want to use applications on your smartphone, you must have an operating system supporting them. Therefore, always ask the dealer about the system, availability of applications, and system upgrade options. Android might be your operating system of choice due to easy upgrade and a whole range of applications.

Step 6. Battery life. By that I mean both the operating time of your battery - you don't want your conversation be broken in the middle or your movie cut in the most exciting moment, and the battery lifetime - you want a battery that (with proper care) will be good to use for years.

Step 7. Price. I put price at the end, because once you decide on the intended use and the features, you'll be able to scale down your demands in some areas if your dream unlocked phone turns out to be a bit too expensive, or scale them up, if you find yourself in a position to spend a few dollars more for the smartphone of your choice.
